چکیده

The paper describes a new integrated formalism for the dynamic functional modelling of vulnerability and interoperability of Critical Infrastructures at regional level. The model assesses the propagation of impacts in terms of disservice due to a wide set of threats. The disservice can be propagated within the same infrastructure or to other CIs by means of the interdependence model, which is able to represent physical, cybernetic, geographic as well as logical interdependencies and also the shift of the demand between two infrastructures that can provide the same or fully/partially replaceable service. The model is dynamic, since both the impact of the specific threat on a generic infrastructure node and the inoperability functions are time-dependent. A pilot study has been carried in the metropolitan area of the province of Milan, considering the Critical Infrastructures referred to the transportation system. & 2011 Elsevier Ltd. Interdependencies Between Industrial Infrastructures: Territorial Vulnerability Assessment

Industrial activities are increasingly dependent on each other. Several recent events (e.g. Tsunami and earthquake in Japan in 2011) illustrate the consequences (e.g. humans, economic...) of interactions between industrial infrastructures. The state-of-the-art review focused mainly on the risk assessment and interdependencies between critical infrastructures. The aim of this paper is to present...

Critical Infrastructures and Complexity Science

The quality of life of our modern society depends on several infrastructures that provide vital services such as water supply, electric energy supply, natural gas supply, food chain distribution, oil distribution, communications and others. Interoperability Standards for Cloud Architecture

Enabling cloud infrastructures to evolve into a transparent platform raises interoperability issues. Interoperability requires standard data models and communication technologies compatible with the existing Internet infrastructure. To reduce vendor lock-in situations, cloud computing must implement common strategies regarding standards, interoperability and portability. Open standards are of c...

Modelling of Sediment Transport in Beris Fishery Port

In this paper, the large amount of sedimentation and the resultant shoreline advancements at the breakwaters of Beris Fishery Port are studied. A series of numerical modeling of waves, sediment transport, and shoreline changes were conducted to predict the complicated equilibrium shoreline. The outputs show that the nearshore directions of wave components are not perpendicular to the coast whic...

ON QUASILINEAR ELLIPTIC SYSTEMS INVOLVING MULTIPLE CRITICAL EXPONENTS

In this paper, we consider the existence of a non-trivial weaksolution to a quasilinear elliptic system involving critical Hardyexponents. The main issue of the paper is to understand thebehavior of these Palais-Smale sequences. Indeed, the principaldifficulty here is that there is an asymptotic competition betweenthe energy functional carried by the critical nonlinearities. Thenby the variatio...
